The Painted Burro

If you're hanging out in Davis Square, pop into The Painted Burro for brunch! The food and drinks are quite delicious. I went with my friend, D, and did not leave disappointed.

The Painted Burro is the {as D says} the older sister restaurant to Burro Bar in Brookline. I was debating on whether I should get something different this time around or order a new dish, but last time the chorizo de la casa taco plate was so delicious that I just had to order it again. D ordered the chilaquiles. I ordered a de la casa margarita instead of my usual mimosa {!!} because I heard the Painted Burro has amazing margaritas. D ordered the iced coffee horchata.

I simply love the Painted Burro. As I'm writing this, I am wishing I had the chorizo de la casa taco plate in front of me. The chipotle mayo adds a little bit of a kick to the meal. I should add that I am sensitive to hot / spicy things so my opinion may be a little biased BUT although I knew my face was getting a little red I would never ask for the mayo to not be added because it's SO GOOD.

Tip: If you're gluten free - they do an amazing job of making sure you're food does not have any cross contamination or will let you know if something may be cross-contaminated.

Overall, the meal was great, D and I both enjoyed our plates. We left nothing on them - which is always a great sign.
