Summer is finally here in New England which means its the perfect time to fire up the grill to make lobster tail, steamed clams, shrimp and veggies! Today's Foodie Friday is a special one because its a 2-for-1. Yes, you're getting TWO recipes this week because, this meal would be perfect to spoil your dad for Father's Day on Sunday {or really, a great meal to #treatyoself}.

Lobster Tail and Steamed Clams Dinner

Lobster Tail Ingredients:

  • Lobster tail
  • A dash of Pepper
  • A dash of Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Butter

Steamed Clam Ingredients:

  • New England Steamers
  • Water
  • A dash of Salt
  • 1 tsp. Butter

Grilled Lobster Tail:
One | Butterfly the lobster tail + wrap the tail in aluminum foil
Two | Take the flesh out of the tail + rinse
Three | Lay the lobster meat on top of the shell
Four | Grill the lobster for five minutes. Prep the butter sauce by melting the 1 tbsp. of butter then adding a dash of pepper and garlic. Mix together.
Five | Pour / rub the butter sauce over the top of the lobster meat. Grill for five more minutes.
Six | Enjoy!

Steamed Clams:
One | In a bowl, add the amount of clams you want to make. Add water and salt to the clams and let them soak all day. The little feet {as I like to call them} will grow as they are in the water - which is a good thing!
Two | As you are preparing your meal, rinse the steamers in cold water to get as much of the excess dirt out. Any steamers that smell, or don't react when you touch their little feet should be thrown out.
Three | Use a tall pot to cook your steamers. Add water and your steamers to the pot. Cover the pot and boil the steamers for 5 minutes. The steamers will be open once they have cooked. If any of the steamers are not open, try to cook them for 5 more minutes.
Four | Melt 1 tbsp. of butter to enjoy as a dipping sauce for your clams.
Five | Enjoy!

To complete the meal, add a side of your favorite veggies and some bread. If you want one more item to add to your meal, add a bit of shrimp!

If you make lobster tails + steamed clams, what are your favorite ways to cook them? If you're making this meal for the first time, what do you think!?
