I've experienced my first Airbnb experience. I was a little hesitant at first, but decided to give it a try.
Here's how it works: >> Go to Airbnb and decide when and where you want to take your trip. >> Decide whether you want to have a private room in someone's home or have the place to yourself. >> Choose your price range.
After choosing these details take a look at the options that are available according to your search. Next, read all of the reviews people have left on the hosts profile. These are essential to whether or not you want to stay at their place. Some hosts have to approve you to stay at their place before you can book their room/home. As a solo girl embarking on this first Airbnb experience, I looked for places that were on Airbnb for more than 3 months, had great reviews, and didn't seem too creepy by the looks of their profile picture.
Once you book your stay, most hosts will notify you before your trip how to get the keys to your Airbnb. You don't have to see your host if you don't want to (if you're staying in a private room). Most hosts are kind and want to talk to you. I recommend taking time to talk to your host, you might make a new friend AND as a local, they can give you tips of what to see/eat around town.
I had a great experience with my first Airbnb. My host was kind, the reviews were on point, and I felt safe the whole time I was there. Airbnb's are great when you're booking a spontaneous trip! You'll be able to find something much cheaper than a hotel in the area that you would like to stay! An Airbnb is also an option if you're looking to move to a new city - you can stay in someone's apartment and see what it would be like before moving.
