Review | Platinum by Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert's latest album, Platinum, is so good. I really like the album. When I first began listening to it, I wasn't quite sure if I really liked it, but after listening to it a few times - I figured out I really enjoyed it. This album is really different from her previous four albums. Of course, you still have your feisty Miranda Lambert songs, but I don't know what it is about it... it's just different. The whole album is country, but you have your 'new' country sound and your 'old' country sound. I like the intermix of things. Platinum definitely shows a side of what she is going through in life right now. For example, Priscilla, is an ode to Priscilla Presley, where the chorus has Miranda Lambert asking how she could handle the King with all of the women busting down the door.

Platinum also features some duets. Miranda Lambert had Little Big Town, The Time Jumpers and Carrie Underwood sing with her on this album. Out of the three, my favorite is Somethin' Bad featuring Carrie Underwood. They are a power duo. If they ever decided to team up and become a duo - they could totally do it. I do have to admit when I first heard they were doing a duet, I was a little weary of what it would sound like, but once I heard the single... MIND EXPLOSION. It's just so. good. Don't believe me? Watch/take a listen.

My favorite songs from the album are: Somethin' Bad, Automatic, Little Red Wagon, Priscilla, and Smokin' and Drinkin'.
