Every once in a while, we'll get some pretty cool creatures in the back yard. It could be a butterfly, dragonfly, hummingbird... A couple of weeks ago, a butterfly happened to make its way into our yard. As soon as I spotted it, I ran back inside to get my camera. I couldn't pass up this opportunity! I retrieved my camera and snapped a few photos, trying to capture as much as I could before it flew away. I was worried that my dogs were going to scare the beautiful creature away, but I think I was the one that scared it. Which was a bummer, but I got quite a few good shots in before it disappeared. Here is one of my favorite shots: [embed]https://www.flickr.com/photos/bririnehart/14462422819/[/embed] See how pretty it is? A gorgeous monarch butterfly! I really do love butterflies. One of the best places to see a bunch of monarch butterflies is Pismo Beach in the fall months, I believe, is when they are there. They stay in the trees and if they don't move, they look like leaves. It's quite amazing to see. Also, butterflies fly around and might land on you as well. Definitely an experience! If you want to see more pictures, check out my album on flickr. xoxo.
