Feature Friday: Scotty McCreery

Since tonight there is a Free Dollar Concert happening in Clovis with the headliner being Scotty McCreery, it was a good fit to start the Feature Friday posts with one about Scotty McCreery! Scotty McCreery came to fame after winning the tenth season of American Idol. McCreery beat out fellow country singer, Lauren Alaina, for the top spot. After American Idol, McCreery busted out onto the country charts with I Love You This Big, and followed it up with another chart topper, The Trouble With Girls. I have always found this song to be a little funny because when it came out he was about 17/18, and I always wondered how he knew what the trouble with girls was. I saw him in concert a couple months ago and he explained [because everyone always wonders how he knows] that he knew because girls are always giving men trouble, no matter what age we are. Other singles released by McCreery are: Water Tower Town, See You Tonight and Feelin' It.

McCreery's deep voice often resembles the voice of Josh Turner. When a new single comes out by McCreery, sometimes I don't realize it is him and think it is Turner's until the DJ announces that it was McCreery. I am always blown away. I think it is amazing that he is only twenty and can sing like that. To hear McCreery live is ah.mah.zing. Be sure to check him out when he comes to a city near you!

If you happen to live near Clovis, California, McCreery will be playing at the Free Dollar Show TONIGHT. It's at the Sierra Vista Community Park. Openers for McCreery are: Tate Stevens, Dakota Bradley, and Joe Bachman. The show begins at 6 PM.
