It's rodeo season in the valley! To kick it off, radio station 102.7 The Wolf had a free concert featuring Jamie Lynn Spears and The Swon Brothers. The concert was called the "Rodeo Roadshow." I listen to The Wolf in the morning to listen to The Bobby Bones Show and hadn't heard anything about this concert until a friend told me. I was shocked that I hadn't heard anything about it because I am a huge Swon Brother fan. That now makes me seem like I'm not that big of a fan. But trust me, I am. Anyways, as soon as I heard the Swon Brothers were going to be there, I knew I had to go. I didn't really care too much about Jamie Lynn Spears.. I just wanted to see the brothers. The Swon Brothers were on season 4 of The Voice - the same season as Danielle Bradberry. The Swon Brothers ended up coming in 3rd place, but they were winners to me. Although Danielle Bradberry is amazing, I was rooting for the boys to win. Jamie Lynn Spears is best known for being Britney Spears' little sister and for playing Zoey on Zoey 101.
Jamie Lynn Spears was the first performer of the night. I didn't know she could sing and I had heard whispers she was going to be making a break in country music, but hadn't really heard her music. When she started her set, my first impression was: Wow, this girl can SING. She has a fantastic voice. I was very impressed by her. I definitely want to buy her music. She seemed super sweet and definitely looked like a Spears. She was very pretty as well.
After her set, I could have met her, because I saw people taking pictures with her, but I didn't want to lose my spot. I had a very good view of the stage. I wanted that spot so I could see the Swon Brothers. I told my friend that if the Swon Brothers were meeting people after the show that I would need to meet them.
The Swon Brothers came out and played their set. They were amazing. They played a couple of songs that would be on their new album. They played songs that they sung on the Voice. And of course, they sung their current single, "Later On." They were hilarious guys and were very humble. We were inducted into the "Swontorage" and were attending a "swoncert."
After their set, I rushed over to where they would be leaving the stage to attempt to meet them. After getting through to meet Zach, I got to shake his hand, Colton came over and shook my hand. I told them that they were great, loved their music and then asked to get my picture. Zach had moved on, so I asked Colton if I could get a picture with him. He said yes, then grabbed Zach and brought him back in for a picture. Thus:
It was pretty fantastic. I was super glad I got to meet them and hear them play live. If you ever get a chance to see Jamie Lynn Spears OR the Swon Brothers, YOU SHOULD GO SEE THEM.
